Cavities Detection in Nazwa , Oman “Channel “

In sedimentary context, we did a survey test by using Electrical Resistivity Imaging (ERI) to locate a Channel (Falaj channel) in Nizwa, Sultanate of Oman . The channel area about 1*2 m as a cave with depth of (14-16) meter. We used Dipole-dipole array with 3 meter spacing between electrodes.

In (figure 2) the channel present highest apparent electrical resistivity in measurement line. The small area of channel make challenge to choose the right geophysical technique to reach the needed depth with high resolution which could appear the channel.

Figure 2: ERI Line (depth vs apparent resistivity).
